Help

Groups and sub-groups
  • Add a group: tap + next to the tabs at the top, give it a name, and save. Each main group is a tab, like "Our family" or "Stapley Family".
  • Rename, reorder or delete: open the tab and tap ✎. Use the arrows to move it left or right.
  • Add a sub-group: scroll to the bottom of a group and tap + Add a sub-group. It shows as a section you tap to open or close, like "Tyler's Family". Sub-groups can have their own sub-groups.
  • Move a group: tap ✎ on it and change Inside. Choose "Top level" to make it its own tab.
  • Deleting a group also deletes its sub-groups and the people only in them. The warning tells you how many first.
People and ideas
  • Add a person: type a name in Add a person at the bottom of a group and tap Add. They go into the group you're in.
  • Add an idea: tap + Add idea on their card. A link, price and notes are optional. Tap Edit on an idea to change or delete it.
  • Edit a person: tap the ⋯ on their card to rename them, move them up or down, choose which groups they're in, or delete them.
Bought, Done buying and 🛒
  • Mark bought: tap an idea. It turns green and counts toward your budget. Tap again to undo.
  • Done buying: after you've bought something for a person, a Done buying box appears on their card. Tick it when you're finished with them. Their badge goes from "In progress" to "Done". The "only show people I'm not done buying for" filter uses this box.
  • 🛒: tap the cart on an idea to put it on your shopping list.
Same person in more than one group
  • Add the person with the same name in each group. The app asks "Is this the same person?" Say yes and they share one gift list everywhere.
  • Or tap a person's ⋯ and tick extra groups under Appears in, or use Same person as… to link two names.
  • To give one group its own separate list, tap ⋯ and choose Give this group its own separate copy.
  • A yellow banner at the top appears if two people with the same name could be the same. Tap Review to answer.
Family gifts (one gift, several people)
  • Tap 🎁 Add a family gift at the bottom of a group, or open an idea and tap Make it a family gift.
  • Tap a group to pick everyone in it, then untick anyone who shouldn't get it. You can also tick people one by one, or search.
  • It shows under each person it covers, and its price is counted once in the budget.
  • To change it, tap Edit on it from any person's card, or tap it on the Budget tab.
Shopping list
  • Tap 🛒 on the ideas you plan to buy. They collect on the Shopping tab with a running total.
  • Switch between By person and By store to plan a shopping trip or online orders.
  • Tick the circle on a row when you've bought it. That marks the idea bought everywhere and moves it to Got it.
  • Open Add ideas to the list at the bottom to pick more ideas. Tap ✕ on a row to take it off.
Budget
  • The Budget tab shows what you've spent, what's still planned, and totals for each group and sub-group. Only ideas with a price are counted.
  • Tap Set budget under a main group. Pick one total, or an amount per person (it multiplies by the number of people in the group, so it grows as you add people).
  • The bar shows spent (green) and planned (gold) against the budget, and what's left or how much you're over. Tap Edit to change or remove it.
Back up, restore and new phones
  • Your list is saved only in this browser on this device. It isn't sent anywhere, and it's not shared between your phone and computer.
  • Back up: ⋯ → Back up (download file). Do it now and then, and before clearing browser data.
  • Restore or move to a new phone: save the backup file to the new phone, then ⋯ → Restore from backup file. This replaces what's on that phone.
  • New year: ⋯ → New year: clear bought and shopping marks keeps your people, ideas and budgets but clears the bought, shopping list and Done buying marks.
Add it to your home screen
  • iPhone: open the link in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Android: open it in Chrome, tap ⋮, then Add to Home screen.
  • It then opens like an app and works without a signal. Use the same way each time: Safari and the home-screen app keep separate lists on iPhone.
